Travertine & Limestone Cleaning & Restoration

Travertine & Limestone, from the marble category, usually has filled pits in the stone. Travertine is a special limestone about 4 million years old, generally formed around hot mineral rich springs. In this type of stone root holes, fossils and debris are commonplace. Travertine and Limestone come in different finishes and textures such a tumbled, pillowed, honed or polished.

Because Travertine and Limestone have an uneven surface and pits, these stones trap more dirt and soil. We incorporate our own niche process using a weighted floor machine with silica carbide grit brushes with a grit finish to match the finish of your floor. This gives your floor an aggressive deep clean with a nicely honed matte satin finish.

If you desire a high shine/ polished finish, we use abrasive polishes that have industrial diamonds in it. This will hide light scratches and etch/dull spots. For removal of severe scratches and etched floors, we utilize a diamond pad restoration process starting with a low number grit diamond, (aggressive) up to a high number grit diamond pad, (fine) bringing up the floor to a polished shine and mirrored surface like polished marble.

All stone restoration is completed with impregnating seal application to repel against water, oil and stain causing liquids.
